About
As
an internationally recognized author, speaker, and security specialist, Michael
Dorn is a highly credentialed, experienced, respected and trusted expert in
his field. He served with the Mercer University Police Department for 10 years
before being appointed as a school district police chief. His department was
featured as a model program by many organizations including the United States
Department of Justice and the United States Department of Education. Michael
has authored and coauthored books on school safety including: Jane's Safe
Schools Planning Guide for all Hazards'the most comprehensive book on
school safety available. He writes columns for Campus Safety Journal,
School Planning and Management, Today's School, School Transportation News
and College Planningand Management magazines. His training
videos are now used in more than 20 countries and he has been frequently interviewed
by major news organizations including Good Morning America, Tokyo Broadcasting,
The New York Times, Associated Press and United Press International.
Michael Holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master's degree from Mercer University and is a graduate of the 181st session of the FBI National Academy. He was selected for a fellowship with Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange Program (GILEE) where he received advanced antiterrorism and counterterrorism training from Israel Police, Israel Defense Forces and Mossad.
Michael's book, Weakfish, will be featured at this conference. His book is filled with tips, ideas and suggestions that will stop bullying. Michael puts a human face on the problem of bullying by telling you the story of Stephen. His book paints a realistic picture of a young man as he works through the turbulent and murky waters of non-acceptance and his fight to survive.
